Between the ages of seventeen and twenty-two I kept a personal blog. It was a mixed blessing of positive and negative experiences. It was a good place for to vent, express thoughts and opinions; and it was very cathartic during some rough experiences. On the flip side, I pretty much wore my personal life on my sleeve. Friends, family and even coworkers stumbled onto my blog. I got older, a little wiser about what I was conveying to the world about myself and it wound up being more trouble than it was worth. I pulled the plug.
This will be different. I’ll rarely talk about my personal life here and never about work. I’m now twenty-six (soon to be twenty-seven) and have a wonderful wife, a house, a good job. I have no reason to mull over, vent or complain about the petty stuff I used to. But there is something to be said for the experience of putting your thoughts down on paper and also something useful to have external comments. I’m now considering my spirituality, seeking hobbies that I enjoy; more adult activities. I have a feeling this blog will probably lean heavily towards the spirituality aspect. That was my main motivation for beginning blogging but I do have a feeling that the subject of hobbies and past times will seep in from time to time.
So here I am, re-entering the digital domain and blogging community.
